Hello December!
We all made it. 2021 is in sight, but first: holiday desserts!
We took a road trip up California 395 to South Lake Tahoe, where hiking, sledding, puzzles, and crackling fires ensued. We even saw a bear close by on a trail! Thanksgiving was, like for most of us, at home and quiet, but we made a full feast with chicken and all the fixins!
Here was a recent review for Write to Market by Chris Fox:
Nathan Agin was a 10! I could listen to him narrating every book I buy. [Gee, thanks!]
I’d love to hear what you’ve been up to and any other comments you have – leave a note below!
And now for a quick look at recent adventures…
RECENTLY NARRATED: THE KICK-ASS WRITER by Chuck Wendig and COPS AND WRITERS: Crime Scenes and Investigations, Book 2 by Patrick J. O’Donnell. Both are in the final stages before heading to retail!
UPCOMING NARRATION: Prepping to record BRAXTON’S CENTURY, Volume 1 by J.R. Strayve, Jr. (author of FIRST SPOUSE that I recently narrated!). Join the protagonist Prince Braxton as he blazes a sizzling trail from the 1860s to the 1960s, the most dynamic 100 years in history, a century of world wars, engineering marvels, romance, death, revolutions, spies, requited and unrequited love.
NEW SERVICE FOR AUTHORS: do you have an event coming up where you’ll need to READ your work aloud and that terrifies or baffles you? We can work to polish your delivery of a short section from your book or writing. Learn the tips, techniques, and tools a professional narrator uses to bring your words to life! Get in touch here to learn more!
NEXT WORKSHOP: Just booked a spot at the virtual Southern California Writers Conference (San Diego) in February 2021! Related to the new service above, I’ll be sharing how to “Ace Your Next Public or Virtual Reading: Performance Tips for Authors”!
NEW GEAR: In an effort to make things more efficient I added a boom arm and shock mount for my microphone, and I’m trying out a new teleprompter app that auto-scrolls as you read! The boom and mount can help reduce vibrations/noise the mic picks up from being on a desk stand, and it gives me a more comfortable, ergonomic setup overall. Scrolling up on text can also make noise, so if I can eliminate that need with the app, even better! Pretty amazing how good the technology is!
INSTAGRAM READING: I’ve started a new series where I’m sharing one minute of a book each day. First up is the aforementioned The Kick Ass Writer by Chuck Wendig. Check it out in the highlights on my profile.
More ahead! Be well and keep in touch!
